The Impact Of Technology On The Environment
Technology is one of the leading causes of pollution on earth. It is one of the most tied trends that coincides with the rise in global temperature around the world. As advanced consumer technology becomes more available and ubiquitous so does manufacturing. This has caused a distinct spike in global temperature.
The computing industry is spread across multiple sectors including Data Centers, Enterprise Networks, and User Devices. Our goal is to tackle both the Enterprise Sector and Users. By doing so we could bring down the global climate impact by the computing industry by as much as 65%
It doesn’t have to be as bad as it is. Some companies have begun to do more and the impact of their small changes can be felt with huge impact. Imagine what a company dedicated to that change could do.
What Are We doing?
Computers and technology is one of the leading causes of waste in the world. Our goal is to make sure we make none and if possible subtract. All of our builds are sourced using 100% commercially available products to eliminate any new e-waste entering the environment. We use recycled and naturally sourced parts wherever possible in your build. When your build is completed we make sure that all unused parts, screws, and components are recycled or used for future projects to avoid any e-waste being created. Finally we use 15% of labor costs to fund renewable energy projects right here in Illinois and The United States.
Right now we are small. As we grow we have a commitment to using that growth to bring about bigger and bigger change.
Our Goals
As we grow we have objectives set for future sustainable investment. While continuing to invest in sustainable energy projects we hope to begin making R&D investments of our own in computing technologies. We will work toward making the entire production flow of computers and computing parts 100% recycled and carbon neutral. We will also begin to make investments and studies into technological education disparities. We believe everyone should have equal access to technology and it’s our goal to discover exactly how to fix that.
